Illustrated throughout with decorative head and tail pieces plus frontis and fifteen full page plates, each with a plain paper guard. Neat previous owners 3 line inscription (dated 1876) on the half title. Some minor spotting to a few pages but generally a clean and bright copy in the publishers highly decorative green cloth binding with bevelled edged boards. Elaborate gilt and blind stamped decoration and lettering to the front board. The rear board with a blind stamped decorative panel pattern. Spine fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Off white endpapers. All edges gilt. Some bumping to the extremities and the spine a little dulled but overall a very good copy of this pretty book. A classic piece of decorative Victoriana.

The Readers Library Publishing Company Ltd. London.,1926. First Readers Library Film Edition. Small 8vo.6.7 x 4.2 inches. Page edges browned as usual but generally a very good copy in publishers burgundy cloth binding. Front board and spine lettered and elaborately decorated in gilt. Spine has oxidised a bit resulting in the gilt being a bit dulled. Original full colour first state dustwrapper, without any mention of this title in the listings. Wrapper shows Film cast members Milton Sills, Betty Bronson and Noah Beery. Small chip to the bottom of the spine and a couple of small nicks but overall a very good example indeed.

NP. ND. c. 1898. Set of 11 full page illustrations by Beardsley Sewn in pale blue/grey card wrapper. No text apart from the front wrapper.(8.4 x 5.4 inches). Mark Samuels Lasner, in his checklist of Beardsley's work, describes a set of these illustrations as being issued as loose plates in blue wrappers (5a) but this copy is the 11 etchings printed on the recto of white paper leaves and sewn into the card wraps. A couple of spots to the edge of the first couple of leaves, away from the illustration, otherwise a clean and bright example in very good wrappers with a small amount of marking and handling to the edges. Overall a better than very good example of this rare item.

Harper & Brothers Publishers. New York. 1945. THIRD EDITION, the same year as the first printing. 8vo. (8.1 x 5.1 inches). xi, 312pp, including index. A very good book in a fine attractive leather binding of full red Morocco. Spine with five raised bands. The compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Gilt inner dentelles. Top edge gilt. Decorative patterned endpapers printed in green, black and red. A hint of rubbing to the extremities but overall a near fine copy. The binding is unsigned but is certainly the work of a master bookbinder.

Hodder and Stoughton. London. 1911. THIRD EDITION. - October 1911, issued the same month as the first printing, and the same format. Large 8vo, (8 x 5.8 inches). Complete with mono illustrated title and twelve full page plates by Bedford. Gilt decorated green cloth boards illustrated with Peter Pan, two Mermaids and the Crocodile, all within a decorative border, on front board. Spine with lettering and illustration including Captain Hook, Peter Pan, two Mermaids and some Fairies, all stamped in gilt. Cloth and gilt are very bright and vibrant on the spine and front board. A remarkable, tight and fresh copy with a small neat previous owner name to the front free endpaper and a tiny amount of foxing to just a handful of pages. The endpapers have some offsetting as a result of the glue used in production otherwise this is a near fine and bright copy of this classic book in the rare publishers original dustwrapper. Full colour illustrated frontispiece mounted onto grey art paper and with a tissue guard, decorative mono title page and twelve full page mono plates by Bedford. Internally this is a very good, bright and clean copy, in an attractive early half leather binding by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, of London, for E. P. Dutton & Company, New York. Half dark green calf. Spine with raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments fully decorated and ruled in gilt. Twin burgundy labels, ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Off white silk bookmark. Rubbing to the outer layer of the leather on the binding edges, particularly the hinge on the lower board, but both hinges still firm and strong and still an attractive binding. In the scarce original dustwrapper, lettered in blue and red. The wrapper is near to very good with some loss to the edges and darkening to the spine. Overall a very good copy. ----- This is the first edition of the play, and was issued as a volume in the uniform edition of the Plays of Barrie. Copies retaining the fragile original dustwrapper are scarce. ------ There are three versions of the Peter Pan story that J. M. Barrie published, after the character first appeared in hie novel The Little White Bird in 1902. The first is Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, which was issued in 1906, complete with fifty full colour plates by Arthur Rackham. Illustrated with a colour frontis and forty nine full colour plates, all mounted onto thick art paper pages at back of book, each one with a printed tissue guard. Decorative endpapers with map of Kensington Gardens. A near fine, bright and clean copy throughout in original russet cloth binding with gilt stamped decoration and lettering to front board and spine. Very minor rubbing to hinges and a small bump to the lower front board at the outer corner, but overall a beautiful clean copy of this classic. Among the very best of Rackham's work.

A very good clean copy, finely bound in Nineteenth century full red calf binding. Spine with raised bands, brown title label, the compartments fully decorated in gilt. Three line gilt border on boards. Gilt inner dentelles. Top edge gilt. Previous owners bookplate on front paste down. Some staining to the boards (which doesn't extend inside the book) and a little rubbing to edges but still overall an attractive and finely bound book with original paper wrappers bound in at end.

The front board in full colour. Green cloth spine. In the rare original dustwrapper which is split along the spine and in two pieces, held together by a wrapper protector. Thumb sized piece missing from the middle of the spine and front panel but overall the wrapper is in very good condition. A rare survivor.:

All edges gilt. Neat previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown. A neat professional repair to the binding hinges but overall a lovely copy.

A few of these line drawings have been neatly coloured using watercolour on 8 pages, but it is well done and doesn't detract from the book. Bound in recent half dark blue morocco. Spine with raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers.

Gilt lettering and circular devices. Colour leather onlay illustration of Peter Pan on a tree stump, to front board. Single gilt ruled border to both boards. All edges gilt. Leather turn inswith single gilt ruled lines. Plain endpapers. The binding is not signed but is certainly the work of a skilled craftsman.

Ireland and co. London and Manchester.,ND (circa 1870's). Large 8vo.(iv),920pp. Text printed in double column. A very good copy in publishers red cloth with highly decorative gilt stamped spine. Author and title lettered within elaborate design. The whole housed with a double ruled border. Boards with blind stamped corner decorations with a triple ruled border. Brown endpapers. Top of spine has a small stain accross about a quarter inch of the cloth. Overall a near fine copy in a highly decorative victorian cloth binding. A scarce edition, unrecorded in the British Library or the Copac library catalogues.:

Housed in original green calf slip-case whish has some light rubbing to edges. Overall a very good copy.:

In the original pale blue dustwrapper with price ($1.00) still intact to inner front flap. Just a hint of fading to the blank spine but overall a fine copy in a very near fine dustwrapper. Berryman's first book, issued in New Direction's Poet of the month series.
