This Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the Civil War was made into one of the most popular American films of all time.

Copies of the book with both May and June dates look like first printings of the first edition. This is because the publication date of the book was pushed back a month, into June, after the May copies were printed. Copies with May and June dates with no additional printings noted probably hit bookstores at the same time (or nearly the same time). First edition. A very good copy in the original gray publisher's boards. Spine barely darkened, but with two vertical wear lines; some wear at the base of the spine. Previous owner's name in ink on the front free endpaper; small stain in the margin of the last 20 or so leaves; last text page with tears in the margin. A decent-looking copy, but lacking the dust jacket. A FACSIMILE jacket is supplied to protect the book and make it look sweet on your shelves.
