Illustrated throughout with photographs and in-text illustrations. A study of the traditional Taaniko weaving of the MÄori of New Zealand related to "twining". Using muka, a fibre prepared from the New Zealand flax, free hanging warps are suspended between two weaving pegs and the process involved twining downward. Written by Sir Sidney Hirini Moko Haerewa Mead, a New Zealand anthropologist, historian, artist, teacher, writer, and prominent MÄori leader. He is currently the chair of the council of Te Whare WÄnanga o AwanuiÄrangi. In the original illustrated paper over board binding. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine
