A wonderfully illustrated, first edition if this charming collection of tales by American author and humorist, Frank Stockton. The first edition. Bound in a smart, contemporary half morocco with marbled paper-covered boards.This work is comprised of a collection of stories by American author and humorist, Frank R. Stockton, who was best known for his innovative and popular children's fairy tales from the late nineteenth century. This particular collection features seven short stories, all of which were written for the enjoyment of children. Wonderfully illustrated by E. H. Blashfield, W. A. Rogers, D. C. Beard and others. With twenty-four illustrations, collated and complete. With eighteen pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear, including an illustrated title page for 'The Clocks of Rondaine' in brown card. Bound in a smart, contemporary half morocco with marbled paper-covered boards. Externally, very good indeed, with light rubbing to the extremities and to the head of the front joint. A little discolouration t the extremities of the boards. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages. Very Good Indeed
