New York: Wm. MNorrow & Co, 1935. First American Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Good+/Good+. Gorska (dust jacket illustrator). 8vo. Pp. [2], 3-305. Bound in black cloth with green lettering and decoration stamped on from board and spine, along with the "Morrow Mystery" logo. Cloth a bit worn, with light stains; former owner name in ink on front free endpaper, along with a rubber stamp (Margaret Keene Lib [...]" and remnant of label; page three with small coffee stain. Dust jacket chipped at head of spine; rubbed and with edge-wear. Price of $2.00 intact on the front flap. Withal, a presentable copy. Published the same year in England (Hodder) as The Cat and the Corpse. One of several "Corpse"-titled mysteries by Robert Alfred John Walling. HUBIN, p. 422. With a classic Gorska dust jacket that compares favorably with his jackets for Luxury Liner and The Wood of the Hanging Templar. Dust jacket is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
