Illustrated with frontispiece and seven plates. Collated complete. The fighting career of Edward Patrick Francis Eagan, an American boxer and bobsledder who is notable as being the only person to win a gold medal at both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games in different disciplines. This work explores his development in the ring from World War I, while enlisted as an artillery lieutenant, where he won the middleweight title of the American Expeditionary Forces. Through his time at Yale University where he won the AAU's heavyweight title, and beyond. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. The odd mark to the board and fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Very Good
