The author was the President of Brandeis University and covers the Jews from the earliest period to the new state of Israel. Contains an index and a bibliography in the rear. Fifth Revised and Enlarged edition. Original dark blue cloth covers with bright gilt spine lettering. There is a small previous owner's name stamp on the inside front pastedown, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, and no significant wear. ; Maps; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 478 pages .
