Four main sections dealing with Buying a Horse (with superb color paintings to provide a thorough guide to colors and natural markings; Handling the Horse(step-by-step instructions with photos on how to approach, catch, and lead a horse; transportation by road, rail, and sea or air; photos of saddles, bridles, correct way to put on tack); The Healthy Horse: The main focus of the book--daily care feeding, grooming, exercise, worming, teeth, etc.; and specific health problems-- illustration and enumeration of the most common illness and accidents; and the fourth section discusses breeding. Dark brown full cloth with bright and bold gilt title; slight rubbing to extremities. There is a lighter brown streak line on the front, 1.5 inches long, near the fore edge.
