About This Item

New York: The Macmillan Company, 1917. The Irish Home Rule movement began in the 1870s, but England did not allow it to happen until 1920. This contains three essays by proponents: "Thoughts for a Convention" by A.E., "A Defence of the Convention" by Sir Horace Plunkett, and "An American Opinion" by John Quinn. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Blue-gray cloth binfing. The front cover is nicely ruled and titled with gilt in a decorative blue frame; the titling on the spine is dark blue. Clean text; 183 pages, with four pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. A very impressive signature on the FFEP. There is a tiny bit of wear at the tips, and some spotting on the fore-edge. The spine has faded; otherwise a very nice book that presents very well. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
