She enjoyed a successful career in her life time, which inspired Charles Reade and Tom Taylor's play Masks and Faces, and a novel by Reade titled Peg Woffington. By J. Fitzgerald Molloy.Illustrated with a frontispiece to vol. I. With twenty-four leaves of publisher's advertisements to rear vol. II. In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, faint marks to boards. Thomas Jefferson McKee's bookplate to front pastedown.
