Signed by the author on title page. Compilation of 1700 marks of more than 1400 American silversmiths who were active between 1670 and 1870. Includes photographs of marks previously only listed or sketched. 373 marks are identified for the first time, and sources for the identification of each mark is given. The bibliography lists more than 350 books. A Winterthur book.
