With a folding map to the front of the text to illustrate his pastoral charge. The life of Felix Neff, a Swiss Protestant divine and philanthropist. Originally a sergeant of artillery, he decided in 1819 to devote himself entirely to evangelistic work and was ordained to the ministry in 1822. After moving to the valley of Freissinieres, he became their pastor, schoolmaster, engineer and agriculturist, which changed the character of the district and its inhabitants Written by William Stephen Gilly, an English cleric and author, known for his support of the Waldensian Church. In the original full black calf binding. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. A 4" closed tear to the folding map at the front of the text. Good
