Pp. vi+46, 10 plates (4 coloured), plus 2 tipped-in paper samples; patterned blue/grey silk over paper wrappers, spine sewn in the Japanese style, with vertical calligraphic paper title label on upper wrapper; printed dust wrapper, edges lightly browned and worn; within printed card two-part box, slightly soiled, with a couple of small edge chips and a piece chipped from the top edge at fore-corner; the outer leaves faintly offset; Dawson, Los Angeles, 1960. First U.S. edition, limited to 750 copies. *First published in Japanese in the Memoirs of the Research Institute of the Cultural Sciences of Ritsumeikan University, in 1953.
