Washington: Robert Farnham, 1847. Revised Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Good. First published in pamphlet form in 1840 and republished in 1842 as a full volume with a frontispiece and two plans. This edition includes a folding plan of the city of Washington.
24mo, frontispiece, 224pp, 16 plates, folding plan. Complete with the 17 engravings called for, and the folding map. Embossed brown gilt cloth, title in gilt and seated Washington (after the sculpture by Horatio Greenough) on the front cover. Spine ends a bit rubbed, base of spine short split, with thin strip loose cloth. Internally, foxing to front paste down. Previous owner names "Roberta Kerr Elliot, August 27th, 1888" and "Bartram North" at ffep. Old time repairs to verso folding map at rear.
