About This Item

London: John Churchill , 1864. First edition. Leather. Good. 6.5" by 4". None stated. The vanishingly scarce first edition of this illustrated scientific work on human anatomy by Christopher Heath, bound in half morocco. The vanishingly scarce first edition of a scarce work. Illustrated throughout with monochrome diagrams. Bound in half morocco with marbled paper to the boards. This detailed study of human anatomy was written by Christopher Heath, an English anatomist and general surgeon. The work provides detailed descriptions and diagrams of the human anatomy, intended to simplify and explain human anatomy to medical students. The work also provides instructions for dissection. Bound in half morroco with marbled paper to the boards. Externally very smart with rubbing to the fore edges and minimal rubbing to the joints, bumping to the extremities of the boards and slight marks to the boards. Front hinge tender with pencil annotations to the endpapers. Internally generally firmly bound with frontispiece tender and pp. 247-250 weak. Pages very lightly age toned with the odd pencil annotation, heavier to the front blanks, and the occasional spot, heavier to the front. Good
