About This Item

Chicago: A.C. McClurg & Co., 1909. First edition First printing. Hardcover. Very good plus. 48 pages illustrated by photographic portraits including the frontis of George B. Armstrong, the founder of the Postal Railway. Date stamp of the Frisco Lines, March 15, 1913, on the front endpaper. Also on the front endpaper is a complimentary signature of Guy Adams. "Guy Adams was formerly in the railway mail service in the Post Office department and for 20 years has been connected with railway mail service on roads in almost every part of the country." Quoted from the May 3, 1918, issue of Railway Age magazine. Bound in original gray paper covered boards illustrated with a steam locomotive and an early Chicago & Northwestern Railroad mail car. The merest hint of cover wear. A very good plus copy.
