About This Item

Boston: Little Brown and Co., 1910 Book. Illus. by G. Patrick Nelson/Theodore B. Hapgood. Very Good. Hardcover. Second Reprint. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Original pictorial paper boards have been kept clean and bright by glassine wrapper. The story begins in 1888 in Kentucky, the only state where a married woman could not make a will. First published in Cosmopolitan Magazine in 1898, it aroused so much interest that it was then included as the first chapter of Hall's book, Aunt Jane of Kentucky. The object of her attention was the English Common Law, which gave husbands the right to their wives' earnings and property. Please examine our photo, which shows the pristine cover, carefully. There is minor abrasion at the backstrip head and a 1910 inscription. Otherwise it appears to be as good as any ! Ads..
