About This Item
New York: Donald I. Fine, Inc.. Near Fine in Near Fine dj. (c.1994). First Edition. Hardcover. [nice clean copy, a couple of corners very slightly bumped, spine very slightly turned; the jacket shows just a touch of surface wear, minor wrinkling at bottom edge of front panel]. (B&W photographs) A detailed chronicle of the romantic singing duo's on- and off-screen romance, the latter purportedly "revealed here for the first time." Well, not exactly. The writer of this tome had co-authored an earlier treatment of the same subject away back in 1976, entitled "Farewell to Dreams," an exceedingly strange (and now very hard-to-find) work that read like a romance novel, cross-pollinated with soft-core porn in the Jacqueline Susann vein -- including some steamy and rather explicit accounts of sexual encounters between the golden pair. I haven't taken the time to plow through the nearly 500 pages of the present volume to see if that approach has been maintained. .
