New York: John B. Alden, Publisher, 1887. Hardcover. Very Good +. 147 p.; 19 cm. Publisher's dark brown cloth with gilt-stamped spine and cover titles; black-stamped spine and cover decoration. Includes bibliographical references and index. Former owner's name on front free endpaper: S.S. Hunting. This was probably the Rev. Sylvan S. Hunting (1826-1894) of the First Unitarian Church in Davenport, Iowa, among many positions; he also served as chaplain of the 27th Reigment of Michigan Infantry during the Civil War, as president of the Iowa Prisoners' Aid Association, and as president of the Davenport Academy of Natural Sciences. The author, Bernhard Pick (1842-1917) was a German-American Lutheran minister. In Very Good+ Condition: ends of spine and corner lightly rubbed; clean and tight.
