About This Item

New York : The Dial Press; James Wade, 1976. 276pp. Original publisher's gauze-backed pale card wrappers, lettered in black. Extremities toned and marked, light chipping and bumping to corners and edges. Internally bright and clean. Yolande Donlan (1920-2014) was an American film and stage actress. While on Broadway as Billie Dawn in Born Yesterday, Laurence Olivier optioned the production for the West End, bringing Donlan with it. She spent much of the rest of her career in Britain, publishing her biography of her early years growing up with her father, Hollywood actor James Donlan in the 1930s, as well as her early career as a dancer and actress. From the library of Laurence Olivier (without any indication of such), to whom many books were gifted over the length of his illustrious, industrious, and enduring career as one of the most important figures of stage and screen in the 20th century. . Uncorrected galley proof. 8vo.

Antiquates Ltd

Antiquates Ltd was established by Tom Lintern-Mole in 2007; we travel far and wide to buy, sell, and advise on rare books and manuscripts.

Concentrating on hand-press printing and early modern manuscripts, we pride ourselves on offering a varied selection of antiquarian works on a diverse range of subjects, leaning towards the interesting, the important, and the unusual.

We have a countryside bookshop in Wareham; we also regularly issue catalogues - do ask if you would like to be added to our mailing list - and frequently exhibit at regional and national book fairs in London, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Oxford, and York.

We also offer a valuation service (for either insurance or probate purposes), as well as advice on library development.
