New York: The Philisophical Library, 1948. First Edition. Good + in a good + jacket.. Copy of noted bookplate collector Mary Chapman Ahrnke with a warm and lengthy inscription. Uncommon signed. 8vo. Smooth black cloth, green and gilt title bands to spine, top page edge dyed green. INSCRIBED by the author: "To Mary Chapman Ahrnke- / May the friendly thoughts / which I hold for you keep / you always on the sheltered / and happy side of life- / Claudia de Lys- / New York, August 19, 1948." Moderate, general shelf wear about jacket, edgeworn, chipped at spine and with a burn hole the approximate size of a cigarette to lower, front and through, affecting front board. Cloth with mild discolor, handling wear, corners bumped, else sound.
