Boston, MA: Marshall Jones Company, 1918., 1918.. Good. - Octavo, blue boards with printed labels on the front cover & spine. There are some small dents to the rear cover with corresponding dents to the rear panel of the dust jacket. The jacket is foxed & chipped with some light staining. Its spine is darkened with the head torn & the tail chipped. viii & 50 pages. There is light dampstaining to the front edges of the rear blanks & last 4 text pages with very light staining to the top corners from pages 5-42. There is light offsetting from the dust jacket to the endpapers. Good.

The Jameson Raid was a botched raid against the South African Republic carried out by British colonial statesman Leander Starr Jameson and his Company troops and Bechuanaland policemen over the New Year weekend of 189596. It is stated on the dust wrapper:" This volume contains the first complete American account of an event which plunged the whole civilized world into a state of intense excitement."
