The first edition of this science fiction novel by Lloyd Biggle Jr., signed by both the author and by fellow sci-fi writer, William F. Temple. The first edition. Signed by the author to fellow science-fiction writer, William F. Temple, with Temple's signature alongside Biggles. The author wrote 'And a very late memento for Bill Temple- long known and admired, finally met on Oct. 10 1984', signed Lloyd Biggle Jr., Folkestone, the town in which Temple resided. Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Written by Lloyd Biggle Jr., an American author, musician and historian, known for his introduction of aesthetics into his science fiction literature. 'Watchers of the Dark' was the second in Biggles' Jan Darzec series, featuring the twentieth century private eye who becomes involved in numerous other-worldly adventures. In this particular story, Darzec must identify and put an end to a sinister, evil power which is threatening the entire galaxy. Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with the odd light mark to cloth. Ink inscription to the front endpaper. Scattered spots to the fore edge. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear, a small cut to the head of the spine, and a closed tear to the front flyleaf tail. A little sunning to the spine of the wrap and the odd mark. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages. Near Fine
