About This Item
London: The Bodley Head, 1956. First edition, first printing. Published by The Bodley Head in London, 1956. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper features a nice, stark image of a hook. Some slight tears to front panel but it has not been price clipped, showing the original 15s net price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks. There is slight toning and foxing to the front flap of the dust wrapper. The text blocks are foxed on the front end paper and prelims. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in very good condition. Building on his Academy Award-winning screenplay of the classic film, Budd Schulberg's On the Waterfront is the story of ex-prizefighter Terry Malloy's valiant stand against corruption on the New Jersey docks.
