About This Item

Ornithology Monographs . 1st. Ed. Pub. Helm. 1989. pp.xvi, 312 with b/w. illus. 8vo. Fine hardback in fine dw. With a letter from Peter Conder to David Boddington (dated Oct. 29th 1951) on Dale Fort Field Centre headed paper (Pembrokeshire) in which he discusses the sighting of a species of Warbler and how his photographs could have been improved. Conder was in charge of Skokholm Bird Observatory between 1947 and 1954, so we assume the sighting took place there. Most of a newspaper obituary of Peter Conder (dated 1993) tipped onto ffep and a letter from Peter Conder’s wife thanking David Boddington for his condolences. An authoritative study of the Common, or Northern Wheatear, complemented by John Busby's excellent illustrations.
