About This Item

London: Oxford University Press and Chatto & Windus. As Jon Stallworthy is himself a poet this book is more than a biography; it is a "poet's illuminating enquiry into the operations of a poet's mind". Red cloth with gilt titles. Endpapers printed with maps: north east France, showing the stages of German withdrawal to the Hindenberg Line, 1917. Rust coloured cloth. Cloth is very clean and neat. Dust jacket showing some handling wear, lightly rubbed closed tear to front and some light tanning. Very good copy in good dust jacket . Hardback. First Edition. 1974.
