London: John Stockdale, Piccadilly, 1800. First Thomas Moore edition. Contains four copper engravings by T. Nugent. Thomas Moore was an Irish poet, entertainer and translator. Moore is considered Ireland's national poet. He studied law at Middle Temple in London which is referred to on the title page. Text is in English and some Greek. Cover has worn and bumped corners and some rubbing and scratching. Ex-library with bookplate on inside cover. Booksellers penciled notation on blank page follows. Name on title page. Stain at the top of frontispiece and title pages and to top margin of another engraving. Gilt decorations on spine are quite rubbed. 255 toned pages including index. We noted fingermarks to the margins of several pages. Some light foxing was noted to two of the pages with engravings and a page following one of the engravings. Some pages are bumped. Somewhat musty. Thanks for shopping with us! 100% of your purchase benefits charity and supports literacy and lifelong learning.. Full-Leather. Good/No Jacket.
