En 8vo.6h, 237pp, 3h. Contemporary vellum. Title page with St Mark lion (engraved) . 41 (of 42?) maps and folded plates. Great condition.
2nd editionn (first in 8vo) published just the same year of the 1st, describing the Venetian campaign for the reconquer of the Peloponeso (or Morea). Venice had been excluded since the turquoise conquer of the greek island in 1458.
Vincenzo Maria Coronelli was an Italian Franciscan friar, cosmographer, cartographer, known in particular for his atlases and globes.

Folio.. Vol III (de III). 324 ff. (completo sin blancas) Encuadernación del siglo XX en piel de oveja completa, con decoración ornamental en lomo y cubiertas. Texto con 59 lineas a doble columna, más encabezados con amplios márgenes. Algo de texto faltante en primera hoja (correcto con a2) en parte superior de columna izquierda, faltando "Fratris nicolai de lira ordinis fratrum minou i quattuor euangelia" y algo de texto correspondiente en verso. Márgenes interiores de las primeras 25 hojas con ligera reparación, sin pérdida de papel. Algo de rastro de humedad en 100 hojas de ab al centro, 20 de ellas con mayor marca de humedad. Aparte de esto, papel limpio. Este tercer volumen contiene los 4 Evangelios y Nuevo Testamento. De Lyra es reconocido por sus extensos comentarios sobre la Biblia. Peripheral toning to slipcase, which has short splits to head, spine of leporello lightly toned, same to back cover, light abrading to front cover. A very good copy with the original "aviso al lector" loosely inserted.
First and limited edition, number 405 of 579 copies, of one of Paz's major works, experimental in both form and content, which, when unfolded, "in a certain sense... produces text by transforming the space itself into a text" (Sanchez). Two intact brass clasps to each board, with leather straps. Boards with broad borders made of numerous large gilt single stamps. Elegant gilt inner frame-border with large gilt corner stamps, inside which a polished calf centre in two tones of brown. The middle of the polished centre with yet another gilt oval frame made of elegang gilt stamps. Spine with six raised bands, richly gilt compartments, and with "Biblia" in gilt to second compartment from the top. Boards with inner gilt borders. All edges gilt. The binding is remarkably fresh and in splendid condition.

La Vulgata Clementina es la edición promulgada en 1592 por el Papa Clemente VIII de la Vulgata, una traducción latina de la Biblia del siglo IV que fue escrita en gran parte por Jerónimo. Fue la segunda edición de la Vulgata autorizada por la Iglesia Católica , siendo la primera la Vulgata Sixtina. La Vulgata Sixtina-Clementina se usó oficialmente en la Iglesia Católica hasta 1979, cuando la Nova Vulgata fue promulgada por el Papa Juan Pablo II.

Inner hinges very neatly restored (barely noticeable and original end-papers preserved). Old ink-annotation to pasted-down front end-paper. An excellent copy, also internally in very nice condition with only light occasional brownspotting. Large Aldine printer's device (dolphin and anchor) to title-page and lovely woodcut initials, paginated with Arabic numerals.
The very rare first reprint of the first edition - i.e. the second overall printing and the first 4to-edition - of the canons and decrees of the council of Trent, one of the most significant series of meetings in Christian history. This milestone in Western culture and religion arguably constitutes the most important work printed in the history of the Catholic Church.

Light spotting to front cover. On top of front cover clalligraphed in ink: "Psalm". Ff (4) + Ff CXXVI + F (1) + last blank (lower righ of the blank has lost a part of the paper). Title-page printed in red inside vertikal woodcut borders and with a large woodcut depicting King David playing the harpe. The following three leaves (Calender) printed in red and black. The woodcut initial "P" in "Psalterium on title-page rubricated. Large rubricated woodcut initials. The first in different colours of gold, red and blue. One initial unfinished. The Latin text surrounded by the German text on each page. Printed on good heavy paper with broad margins, clean and fine.

Light traces of use. 3 wood-carved title leaves, densely pruned at the top. Numerous larger woodcut illustrations along the text.First Danish edition of Luther's Postil and of the greatest rarity in complete condition. Only quite a few preserved in private hands. Most copies in public libraries are incomplete (Lauritz Nielsen lists only 7 complete copies). One of the most significant books of Benedict's printing press, and the largest in scope.
From 1531 to 1535 Luther delivered many of these sermons, what are known as his Hauspostille (house postils).
