Signs of aging and wear, wormhole damage, top of the back panel missing (see scans), tear on the top of back cover, partially missing, spine exposed, foxing, stain on top of the front cover ink inscription on the back of the front panel. Condition: Ink inscriptions on the title page and troughout the text, some of which is affected by the inscription, wormholes throughout the text block, affecting legibility (wormhole damage is especially prominent from beginning trough to pp. 9).

Based on historical records and details and information that can be found in this book, we can conclude, although not with absolute certainty, that this book contains the work that was commissioned, edited and reviewed by Peter the Great himself in Saint Alexander Nevsky Lavra [monastery] in St. Petersburg as an explanatory part of the Gospel Beautitudes. A rare and beautiful copy of Orthodox Evangelion with luxury purple velvet binding with brass clasps and corner and center ornaments. Woodcut printed text and hand-colored illustrations. The book contains multiple hand inscriptions that are only partially legible.The pencil inscription on the front flyleaf contains references to Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, as well as the years: 1911 and 1914. It is possible that the text in some way refers to the Bosnian crisis which served as a prelude to WWI. But, since we have not been able to translate the entire text, we cannot be certain of the context. Collection of numerous editions of daily newspapers from Yugoslavia published during WWII in Nazi-occupied Belgrade. Newspapers contain war reports written in a nazi propaganda manner. The entire 1943 year is present ( 514-821) with 307 issues in total. They are mostly in very good/fine condition. An extremely scarce item, only a few other copies can be found in world libraries. Bound together in a 1/4 faux leather binding, probably in the late 1980s. All the newspapers are original from the period. Minor imperfections in form of discoloration, minute stains, and small tears along the edges, do not affect the legibility of the text. Overall, the collection is very well preserved. Collection of famous Serbian manuscripts, artistically reproduced by Svetislav Strala. The luxurious box contains 18 drawings of miniatures, initials and handwritten text. Strala was a painter of Polish descent, born in 1891. The drawings come in a luxurious leather box resembling medieval bindings, late XXc made by famous bookbinder Aleksandar Ćeklić.Strala came to Serbia in 1917 as an Austrian soldier. In Belgrade, he worked for a time as the manager of the modern art collection and restorer at the National Museum. From 1933 he was a drawing teacher at the gymnasium, and from 1941 he taught watercolor at the Technical Faculty. The ancient tablet from Baghdad (modern Iraq), Mesopotamia. Cuneiform IS a logo-syllabic script that was used to write several languages of the Ancient Near East.
