Handsome first edition of this address "Delivered on the occasion of the third annual Bromsen Lecture May 3, 1975" -- the third "Maury A. Bromsen Lecture in Humanistic Bibliography." Famed antiquarian bookseller and collector Bromsen (1919-2005), well known for his specialty in early Spanish colonial manuscripts, established this endowed lectureship. He boldly inscribes and signs the inside front wrapper in black fineline "For Frank S. Hanlin, with / highest regards and affection, / Maury A. Bromsen / Boston / June 4, 1976." (Frank S. Hanlin,1924-82, was a noted bibliographer and University of Iowa special collections director). Hart (1911-90) was a long-time U.C. Berkeley professor and literary scholar/historian.
