This is the story of the last railroad along Clear Creek until the demise of the narrow gauge operations of the Colorado & Southern west of Denver, Colorado in the spring of 1941. The formation of this railroad began on paper in 1865. Through various corporations and name changes, eventually this narrow gauge line became part of the Colorado & Southern, a subsidiary of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy which in turn was controlled by the Hill Lines, the Great Northern and Northern Pacific Railways.
