MR. WILLIAM NEWBY Born January 30, 1941 in Dundee, Scotland, son of a great mechanical engineer, and grandson of a great Scottish Poet, James Nairn. William immigrated to America in 1951. After eight years and thirteen trips, by boat across the Atlantic, Billy, as his mother called him, finally settled in Yonkers, New York in 1959 having graduated from high school twice. Once in Dundee and again in Yonkers. Billy, a Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Buddhist, has traveled extensively; Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and a hundred places in between. He has duffed the finest golf courses in the world, including Saint Andrews, Troon, Turnberry, Glen Eagles and Carnoustie to name a few. He paints, plays guitar, piano and bagpipes, creates great Bonsai and reads, reads, reads. His passions are History, Philosophy, Travel and Religion. His vocation, Engineer. His dream, to be an Author. Mr. Newby is the Founder and President of Newmont Elevator Analysts, Inc. He has over 50 years experience in the elevator industry. Mr. Newby's Organization has been involved in new construction, modernization and maintenance evaluation projects throughout the United States and abroad. Projects include Rockafeller Center, NY, One Liberty Place, Philadelphia, TransAmerica Pyramid, San Francisco and a hundred other prestigious properties throughout the world. Living in St. Augustine, Florida, although still traveling extensively, William has started what he hopes will be his new career, Author (renowned). His First novel complete, he is presently working on his second, third and fourth novels.
