Paperback trade, very good condition, stapled pamphlet, black & white & colour text-photos & drawings, flight plans, light crease rear cover & bottom edge, bottom corner front cover tip little creased, minor edgewear. 54 pp. This booklet by Anthony Coleiro is in celebration of the flight of a Vickers Vimy from Britain to Australia by Australian aviators Ross and Keith Smith, Jim Bennett and Wally Shiers, who took off from Hounslow airfield on 12 November 1919 and 28 days later landed in Darwin. They won the air race sponsored by the Australian Government. One hundred years later in 2019 the aviator and explorer Michael Smith embarked on the same journey flying as much of the original route as possible. He landed in Darwin the same date, thus achieving another milestone in aviation history.
