Description:
Daylight Printing, 2023. Hardcover. New. Hardcover, 256 pages, 8.5 x 11 in., 99% Color photography, captions are longer than most picture books. There is a lot of Scarlet and Gray in this title, but also short lines, Amtrak, and experimental power liven up the photograph collection. Cabooses, timber trestles, scenic vistas and a mix of older and newer diesels plus a few steam photographs of Cab-forwards and AC-9s make for a good selection of photographs. The photograph collection presented here is from the 1950s to 1996 before the purchase of the Southern Pacific by the Union Pacific. The previously unpublished photographs of David Houston, Greg Brown and Todd Montgomery are proudly presented in large format, just as they were photographed. We cover Portland to Dunsmuir, branch lines, the Siskiyou, the Modoc and a chapter on the Oregon, California & Eastern. Contents: Portland, pp. 4-6, Seattle, pp. 7-10, Brooklyn Yard, pp. 11-15, Milwaukie, pg. 16, Clackamas to Salem, pp. 17-18, Salem and the… Read More
