The focus of the book is on those remarkable Aboriginal objects called toa - objects of art and information within the context of Diyari culture. Toa were used as directional markers or sign posts in traditional Aboriginal Australia - there shape, colour, design or appendages representing conspicuous topographic features which are linked to the mystic wanderings of the Dreaming beings. 144 pages including photographs of mainly objects on almost all pages. Book in very good+ condition ex library with small stamp and reference number top first page, small stamp on publishing page and borrowing sleeve back inside cover. Page 47 has a large tear which has been repaired with sticky tape. Cover has some minor wear and two stickers bottom back.
