Detroit, Michigan: Kerr, Doughty & Lapham, 1853. Later printing. Hardcover. Fair/No jacket. 364 pages. A collection of editorials and artlcles written by the author for a newspaper in New York. Brown cloth binding with blindstamped decorations on front and back covers and gilt titles on spine. Heavy spotting of cover with some fading and edge wear, gilt worn, corners and spine ends bumped, old obituary for William A. Engeman pasted to front free end paper over handwriting, paste smudges on end paper, interior pages bright with a good bit of foxing and a few stains, binding shaken.
