New York, 1947. unbound. 1 page on personal stationery, 10.5 x 7.25 inches, New York, August 26, 1947, to violinist Olga Doloschuk, while conducting a rare open audition, in full: "In reply to your letter I am glad to advise you that there is still just one opening for violin in the Cleveland Orchestra. I am leaving town tomorrow but shall be back on Sept. 16th. May I suggest you phone one on Sept. 17th at 9 a.m. at Murray Hill 3 - 7181 so we can arrange for an audition." Pencil notations on the back; three horizontal folds. Very good condition.<br/><br/> Hungarian-born American conductor and composer best remembered for his long tenure as music director of the Cleveland Orchestra.
