Olive green w/ gold & black titles, embossed text & design; printer's ornaments, display caps throughout; green/cream floral endpapers; Crawford & Stockbridge, Binders; beveled edge cloth covered boards. Small print run. A memorial edition of short essays and poems composed over decades by Elisabeth Chase Hill (b. Boston July 3, 1825-m. John M Hill, Dover, NH, Nov. 15, 1843-d. Concord, NH Feb. 4, 1867, diabetes. Notes by author and by her husband and/or editor: "F.M.A. " Obituary included at end. Inscription at front: "Mr. Franklin Evans (sp? ) & Family, with regards of John M. Hill, January 1888". Some works had appeared in "Hill's New-Hampshire Patriot" prior to her marriage. (Could be how they met) & New-Hampshire Statesman. Author educated in South Berwick, ME, and Young Ladies' School, Exeter, NH. Son Howard F. Hill of Montpelier, VT at her death.
