Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering remains bright and clear. Book has slight forward lean.

Birds and wildlife (including salmon and otters) in remote regions of Britain and the Arctic (eg migration of waders): a variety of subjects is covered including red and black grouse, ravens in the borders, long-distant migration of birds, wildfowl, the sense of smell in birds, and the book ends with a chapter on the protection of wild birds. This copy has a nice Norfolk birdwatching provenance: a label inside the front cover states: Billy Bishop from A.H. Daukes, August 1953. A Very Good copy. Browning to page fore-edges.
