Publisher's hardcover in original metallic effect dust-wrapper. No inscriptions, moderately worn in the foil jacket, which easily shows wear; this copy has the usual and inevitable scratches to the silver surface, plus some rubbing. SIGNED on behalf of the publisher by Jon Gilbert [Adrian Harrington Ltd]. One of a selection of titles by Ian Fleming, uniformly cased in harlequin colours, comprising sheets from the Ian Fleming Centenary Edition in an elegant new hardback binding for 2022. Live and Let Die was the first of many James Bond adventures to be set in the author's beloved Caribbean.

Library binding in burgundy vinyl covers, top edge coloured yellow, original dust-jacket priced £15.99. Likely the publisher's library binding with their monogram imprint to spine. Scarce thus. Ex-library copy with expected institutional markings, declassification stamp, and associated wear. From the comprehensive Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive assembled by Jon Gilbert, with original invoice and pencilled ownership to endpaper. His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Gilbert E9.

London: Pan Books, 1962-3. [Spy thrillers] COMPLETE AS ISSUED. 8 volumes [all that were issued in this series], octavo (16 x 10 x 9cm). A vintage set of the 'Great Pan' paperbacks with the Yellow Band covers (Dr. No technically a white band), and Pan's '007' and bullets logo. Various early printings ('For Your Eyes Only' is a FIRST PRINTING). Colour-illustrated cover designs, each volume correctly priced at 2/6 (all UK copies- unpriced export issues were also produced). Toning to cheap paperstock as expected, faint book shop stamp to 'Live & Let Die', ink initials to 'Goldfinger' no owner names or book shop stamps, spines rolled and rubbed as expected; generally very good.

[Film promotion] U.S. one-sheet 'film season' poster advertising the 1973 United Artists film directed by Guy Hamilton starring Roger Moore as Ian Fleming's James Bond, produced by Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli's Eon Productions. Artwork by Robert McGinnis. Approximate dimensions 27 x 40 inches. Printed on semi-gloss paper stock with the G.A.U. [printers union] symbol present. Folded, some handling, minor creases to r.h.s., title in pen to reverse side. Near fine. Note on Format; the 'one-sheet' is a portrait [vertical] view American or International movie poster, measuring approx. 27 x 40 inches. Prior to the 1980s they were generally issued folded with one vertical and three horizontal creases. This is the standard American film poster format, and essentially the US equivalent of the British quad.

A used set with some signs of reading and handling, some creases/soiling, ink ownership to For Your Eyes Only' and 'Thunderball', discreet ink price '10p' to 'Goldfinger'. Shows well as a set. A clean, fine copy of the book, in a very good example of the foil jacket, which easily shows wear; this copy has a few of the inevitable scratches to the silver surface but no major defects. A vintage set of Triad paperbacks, ALL FIRST PRINTINGS, in the classic 'girl and gun' series with giant golden 9mm automatic pistol. Publisher's softcovers. Clean throughout, most books are fine [Moonraker a little rubbed, reading crease to spine]. An excellent set. Now difficult to assemble as a group of first printings.

A full set of this edition, all FIRST PRINTINGS with number line/strike line '1'. Publisher's softcovers with strikingly minimalist designs. Absolutely fine / as new. This is the first edition produced wholly under the Ian Fleming Publications imprint. IFP (formerly Glidrose) is the company which administers all Fleming's literary works.

London: Pan Books, 1960s. [Spy thrillers] JAMES BOND PAPERBACKS. Fourteen volumes. Octavos (18 x 12 x 18). A vintage set of Pan paperback printings in the classic 'X' series with cover artwork and bold 'James Bond' lettering after designs by Raymond Hawkey. Cheap paper stock toned as usual, three books with ink ownership (From Russia, Live Twice and Golden Gun). Externally very good with some expected wear, reading creases, spine roll, a few small nicks etc. Includes two first printings ('Thunderball' and 'Spy'). Very good, with a few titles in this series becoming rather scarce. Introduced on Thunderball in 1963 (here in first printing), the stylish 'X' series featured "iconic JAMES BOND lettering, being larger and bolder than either the book title or the author's name. A vintage set of Pan paperbacks in the classic white 'Model' series with photo covers and the bold 'James Bond' lettering designed by Raymond Hawkey. Single ink name 'Simon' to Dr.No else no writing, cheap paper toned as expected, covers are lightly used, occasional toning to spines, minor wear. A very good set (some close to fine). Publisher's black cloth-effect paper over boards, blocked in gilt, with purple dust-wrapper showing the price of £2.95. No inscriptions, contents clean, edges slightly toned, gilt remains bright and fresh (often tarnished), jacket is quite fresh, with light wear to spine ends and extremities. Near fine. Many of Cape's 70s James Bond hardcover reprints were taken into the lending library system to replace existing well-worn stock; clean, privately-owned copies such as this are genuinely scarce. London: Foyle [The Book Club], 1956-1966. [James Bond] COMPLETE BOOK CLUB EDITIONS. 11 volumes. Octavo (20 x 14 x 26cm). Publisher's hardbacks in illustrated dust-wrappers. The entire run of the popular British book club editions, which began in 1956 with 'Live and Let Die'. In total eleven of the fourteen James Bond titles were issued in this format and this set is complete as published. A well-read set in uniformly worn jackets; discreet owner name to FRWL, owner's blind stamp to 'LLD', wrappers with chips and tears, some toning to spine panels, tape marks to 'DN'. Overall a good, used set. Uncommon to find complete, as here. Ian Fleming's books were offered in this cheaper format, usually one year after the Cape first editions- some share the same Jonathan Cape artwork, but after the 'Thunderball' painting was damaged while on loan in America, Cape would no longer lend out their original art; as such the Book Club commissioned their own action-packed and striking cover designs. London: Jonathan Cape Ltd., 1992-4. [Spy thrillers] FIRST EDITIONS thus. Three omnibus volumes containing all the original James Bond novels and issued by the original publisher in this new format. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.768, pp.928, pp.847. Publisher's black cloth with various coloured metallic titles to spines. With the pictorial dust-jackets, variously priced. These are thick, heavy books and usually suffer from knocks and creasing to jackets, sunning to red lettering on spine, etc. In addition, many copies were sent to libraries. These copies have been read and show some light marks/dustiness to edges of text blocks, no inscriptions or writing within, jackets lightly handled with some minor wear and some sunning to the red titles of the final volume. Shows well. Most uncommon. Cape had previously published The James Bond Onmibus (1973), which contained three titles, but it was not until the early 90s that the whole set was issued in an omnibus series by Cape. Publisher's red printed card covers, with printed label to upper providing publication details and blurb. Compliment's slip from Cape chairman Tom Maschler tucked in. Minor spine lean, very slightly rubbed and sunned to same. Jon Gilbert's file copy, with his pencilled notes and ownership signature. A near fine example of an excessively rare advance copy in softcovers; only 90 copies were issued, a much lower number than any of the 1960s originals in proof.
