Mikes, of Hungarian birth, became most famous for poking fun at the British and foreigners and foreign lands. Here, he satirises Countries behind the Iron Curtain - just as the Cold War was bedding in. The dustjacket of this book is grubby but has little wear. The corners and spine head and foot have mild shelf wear. The dj is intact and robust. The blue cover is in good, happy condition. The contents are clean, unmarked, content, healthy and assured. fk. So probably a reading copy only. 142 pages. The book pokes fun at various European countries including those then behind the Iron Curtain. Inside the back covers someone has pasted a perceptive article from 1982 about Mikes and his humour. This notes his changing attitude to the Brits over some 40 years. .
