Available in this atlas are magnitude, spectral class (in most cases), precise coordinates, proper motion, and Durchmusterung number. The total number of atlas stars slightly exceeds 260,000. It can be used by the professional astronomer to work on asteroids, comets, or artificial satellites. The atlas is nearly complete to visual magnitude 9 but contains many fainter stars to 11.
