About This Item
New York: Garland Publishing, 1995. First Edition. Octavo. 397 pages, subject, names and title index. bibliographic references. Annotated with many works by Gypsy authors or which highlight Gypsy voices. Gypsy authors, reflecting their oppression, were often angry, defiant, or just plain weary of the struggle. During the writing of this book, (1995) the communist regimes in Eastern Europe were dismantled and anti-Gypsy violence in the form of pogroms and lynching was then commonplace. Gypsies in Eastern Europe then were organizing to protest and change the situation. A very useful guide that not only lists the major items but also provides helpful annotations. A fine copy bound in blue-gray cloth lettered in silver, spine lettering silver.
