Three works in one volume; octavo; [viii],75, [i]pp; xi, 108pp; [iv], 71, [i]pp. In contemporary full calf with gilt rolls to board edges (front board detached, spine rubbed with minor loss of leather at head and foot, spine label missing), marbled page edges, matching marbled endpapers, very occasional unobtrusive spots and browning, neat early ink ownership name to opening blank, otherwise clean and unmarked, complete with half titles to Giaour and Corsair. A collection of early editions of these popular Byron classics, still attractive despite its tired binding.

The Wizard, Haggard, H. Rider: Longman's Green 1st Edition, 1896, London. A tale of Africa. Used. Very Good/ No dust jacket is included. Red Boards with gold titling on spine. Titling is still nice. Summary: "The novel is placed in the imperialist literature of 19th-century England. Just like many of his other works, this novel is inspired by H. Rider Haggard's experiences of South Africa and British colonialism. The character Noma is meant to be representative of the theme of female authority and feminine behavior." A scarce title.

London, Sampson Low, Marston & Co., 1888.. Early British edition. Contains two stories: From the Earth to the Moon, and A Trip round the Moon: a sequel to From the Earth to the Moon. There is a frontispiece illustration, and another facing page 6. The titlepage and first few pages of the text are foxed, but the Boards are in very good codition with illustrations on the front cover and spine.

Beautifully illustrated, many in color.Corners bumped, wear to bottom edge of boards. Some written marks to inside rear end papers. Some pages discolored due to age others, as the color illustrations, not at all..

London:: Smith, Elder and Co.,. Hardback. Full tree calf binding with raised bands to spine, gilt titles to spine and gilt decorated compartments. Decorative gilt twisted border to both boards. Gilt dentelles. Marbled endpapers and marbled to all page edges. Illustrated by Richard Doyle. The narrator is Arthur Pendennis, the protagonist of Pendennis. Leather to spine is very slightly faded and there is a hint of rubbing to spine hinges which remain strong. Text is particularly clean and crisp. Very good copy . Hardback. 1903.

First edition hardcover. 1866, New York. Condition is Very Good: Library sticker on spine, pencil note on copyright page, no other library markings. Some pencil notes on front blank, none elsewhere. Occasional foxing in text. Binding is sound. Light general wear to boards. A nice copy of an uncommon book. Author aims to offend as many people as possible and succeeds. Paginates: blanks, frontis, 312, [2], blanks, plus 11 unpaginated plates. Extremely obscure item. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: Author is brother of Samuel Comstock - infamous mutineer of the whaleship Globe. Such a lovely family. More notes: Satire aimed at (?) Charles Farrar Browne who was a humorist working under the name Artemus Ward. Browne (Ward) was reportedly a favorite of Abraham Lincoln. More notes: Most, but not all, first editions of this time period have the date on the title page and this copy does not.
