"Gay's Fables", by Mr. Gay1742 - 2nd Edition, Volume IIAntique Hardcover Book8 3/4" x 5 1/2" - 155 Pages The beautiful leather, gilt and marbled paper boards are in good condition, with some staining and light wear. The front binding hinge has a light crack, but it is still strong, square and all in tact. There are some dark spotting and minor cracking to the leather on the binding. The pages are in good condition, free from rips, tears, bends and writing. There are some stains on a few of the pages. The end pages are tanned and the previous owners bookplate is pasted on the inside front board. The pages are rough cut. The paper in the book is amazing and there are beautiful black and white illustrations through out. This 273 year old book is very collectible and quite beautiful, and in amazing condition.
