This hardcover first edition copy, including dust jacket, is in excellent condition. Unmarked throughout except for initial owners name at inner first page, the book presents firmly, clean, pages white and spine binding almost as new.

First UK edition ( Faber and Faber, London 1987 ) Hard cover with dust jacket in very good condition . A young woman describes her life - or lives. We see her as a scatty, touchy, vulnerable nightclub singer; as a cigarette-puffing aerobics teacher; as a bemused and then abandoned wife; and as an enchanted mother. At the centre of the novel is a mystery, and a set of variations which at first seem to conceal the mystery, but which ultimately disclose it.
A very good work from a talented writer.

The city is Melbourne, 1965. Like any other city it acts as a magnet, drawing towards it all kinds of people. The story centres on four young people, happiness is elusive and it leads them in to some difficult and frightening situations.
Teens or reminiscers recommended.

1999 First Edition Bantam book ....... very hard to find
This copy is in good condition for an almost 25 year old paperback. The pages have lost their whiteness, but the binding is sound and firm and the book is unmarked throughout.
