A very nice copy with no marks except that the cover has some bubbling –I think it was caused by too much binder's glue. With this minor detraction, I would call it a good copy in slipcase. $9.50

This is a photo reprint, probably from the 1980's, when a professor of classics was studying in Tubingen. Seems he had privately reprinted a number of works on the ancient world. Must have been very expensive for him.

With a supplementary chapter by Émile Cahen, translated by James Loeb.London: William Heinemann, ltd.; New York, G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1931, xx, 638 pages, bib, index. This is an ex-library copy from the library of a major museum. It is not a reprint but the first edition. Volume has the usual library markings but I wonder how often it was consulted as it is in such nice shape. The blue linen cloth binding with the gilt lettering on the spine is very attractive, printed in Great Britain. There is a handwritten note in pencil noting that the book was given to the museum in 1931by James Lamb, 1867-1933. With detractions noted, book is in good to very good, tight condition. $20.00

Occult 1871 Guthrie, Kenneth Sylvan, 1871-1940. The Alexandrian Philo Judaeus; the Platonizing Hebraist's complete message, a systematic outline with sufficient detail to furnish quotations. (Yonkers, New York), Platonist press, 1927?, 96 pages. This work was originally published by Luzac & Company in London in 1909. It's possible that Guthrie obtained the sheets for the book from Luzac. This book is paperback with some chipping and toning, in almost good condition, and certainly published after 1919. A very uncommon work. Guthrie, an Episcopalian priest with an MD and Ph.D., never was financially successful and was obligated to publish works from the ancient Greeks to survive. I suppose one could call him a spiritualist today. He has a small but dedicated following and has been reprinted by the many reprint houses on the Net. $25.00 Box 2424
