This is the second revised edition, 38th impression, and as such the "Further" has been incorporated into the original title. Lightly scuffed and soiled covers. Lightly dented corner tips, scraped at top and bottom of spine. Crimped and chipped cover edges. Inside front cover is lightly tanned, as is the title page. Pages are clean, unmarked and in very nice condition. Binding remains strong. G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1924. First Edition. Hardcover. Acceptable. Red cloth boards, no dust jacket as printed. This is the first printing of this title, from 1924. The introduction written by James A. Woodburn. The boards are faded, dirty, scuffed, with dented and worn corner tips. Bottom of boards are scraped and shelf worn, as is the bottom of spine, which is dented and worn. Top of spine is also indented and worn, as are the edges of the spine. The gilt lettering on spine has faded and darkened. Text block is yellowed, stained, dirty at the top and scuffed. Front paste down and end paper has a good deal of writing/notes. Faint traces of a penciled price remain at the top edge of FFE. Back end page also has writing. Book cocks. Very toned pages. Previous owner sticker on FFE. Pencil marks on top of the FFE. Great cover artwork. 370 pages.

Gilt titling on spine is still visible and only lightly faded. Scraped edges along spine. Dented corners with wearing through to cardboard. Pastedowns and endpapers are age toned. Cracking to the hinges. Pages are significantly age-toned and foxed. Fingerprint marks on edges of a few pages. Tissue guards over color plates are quite yellowed, but all are there and not torn out. This book was published in 1976, a travelogue originally written in 1959 by the Soviet Lithuanian writer, radio and press operative and public figure, Albertas JuozÄ—nas, who wrote under the pen name of Juozas Baltusis. Pictorial dust jacked is rubbed and lightly scratched. Crimping around edges with bumping to all corner tips and at spine. Inside edges of DJ are age-toned. The wine colored background on which the gold titling has been stamped has rubbed off onto the DJ where it lays on top of the spine. Beige cloth covered boards have dented corner tips. Spine ends are dented. Owner name on front pastedown. Sewn binding is solid. 438 pages.

Glue has darkened around edges of paste-downs and in the hinge area. Book does tend to fall open between the sewn in page signatures, but as stated, no loose pages.
