Miss Isabella Lucy Bird, later Mrs. J.F. Bishop (1831-1904), left England to seek a better climate for her health in 1878, she returned to Japan in 1894 and 1896. She was the first woman to be elected Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. - scarce, specially in this condition.
