The first 11 pages, with drawings, demonstrate exercises to get started. Both booklets are of 50-page length and have 2 colour pages of planes as well as many b/w photo pages. Numbered 1052 and 1076. Price is for both booklets.

The dust-jacket mirrors the colourful paper illustrated design of the book boards. The rear d.j. flap advertises 2 other books for children by Maurice Baring. A few pieces missing from the edges, but the d.j. has protected the book itself and kept it bright and clean. Uncommon thus.

1st Edition. 4 pages at front of book with the author's other titles; plus 16 pages of other Ward Lock authors at the back of the book. Crime mystery. 8 pages of illustration on glossy paper, each with a sentence or phrase from the text, which can be found easily on a page before or after.
Bit of a lean to the spine and some chipping to top and bottom of spine; plus one page of each of the endpapers is Brown (possibly because some card or other paper was laid-in there for some years); ex-owner's signature on the front e.p., plus an "Ex Libris" stamp of a previous owner (Harry S. Kirkland); otherwise a Very Good copy of this seemingly scarce title.

Illustrated by Jean and Mou-sien Tseng on every page. 1st Scholastic edition. From the d.j. flap: "The Seven Chinese Brothers" is one of the most popular stories in the Chinese folktelling tradition. Carefully researched details in the watercolor paintings recreate the period in which the infamous first emperor of all China, Ch'in Shih Huang, lived and began building the Great Wall.
D.J. is flawed in that there are 2 vertical brown stripes, one on each side of the spine; they bleed through to the outer jacket illustration too, although not as obviously. The book itself is not affected.

Reprint of the 1974 edition with 32 extra photos by Jon Naar as well as an Afterword in which he reflects on the project and the meaning it has taken on in the intervening decades. A VG+ copy.

NOTE: this particular copy has the cartoon characters on the glassine front cover flipped (facing the opposite way) than any other copies that I've seen online. This was probably an error by the person doing the assembling of the front board, but, nevertheless, it would seem to be unique. So, the picture of characters on the inside of the front board is the one which most owners have facing outward.

From 1967 Albert Manser dedicated himself exclusively to painting. Manser achieved popularity across borders with his richly illustrated children's books "Albertli: The Story of an Appenzeller Farm Boy" and "Barbara".

Blues and Pinks, and Oranges and Greens; a girl who meets and tames a wild horse, their pictures all in silhouette. Smooth colourful boards featuring the young girl and the horse she befriends.
A 1-1/4" crease on most pages at the bottom, right near the spine. It does not show on the boards themselves or on the d.j. Possibly a printing error. I see a lot of copies online but very few mention a d.j.
